Birthday Parties

Come and be creative at the Midwest’s premier Art Center to celebrate a special day! The Indianapolis Art Center hosts birthday parties for children ages 3 and up.

Party

The hands-on activity for the party is led by a professional working artist. This will last about 1 hour. You have the remainder of the party to enjoy refreshments, open gifts or play games. Please note: The artist will not be responsible for leading games or additional entertainment, other than the hands-on activity.

Activities

Choose a hands-on activity from a range of options:

  • Mixed Media Collage
  • Mask Making (collage or clay)
  • Painting
  • Pottery (mug, bowl, or mask)

Cost

You bring the food and refreshments and birthday cake and the Art Center will provide streamers and balloons. (We can provide a list for local pizza delivery.) The Art Center has a refrigerator and freezer for you to store ice cream and other items.

  • The cost of a party is $285 for members and $300 for non-members (up to 15 guests). A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold the space; the balance is due at least one week prior to the party. If the party is less than three weeks away, the full amount is due at booking. Please book parties at least two weeks in advance. Party includes:
  • 2 hour space rental
  • 60-90 minute art activity
  • Special gift for the birthday honoree
  • Simple streamer and balloon decorations

Parent Responsibilities

  • Parents must be at the Art Center 30 minutes before the start of the party to ensure that all details are set and welcome guests as they arrive.
  • At least 2 adults must be present in the classroom to supervise the children at all times.
  • Running and playing in the galleries is strictly prohibited. Parents will be held responsible if artwork in the galleries is damaged.
  • Parents are responsible for conducting any additional activities and games. The artist is responsible for conducting the hands-on activity only.
  • Parents are responsible for cleaning up from refreshments, gift opening, and games. The artist is responsible for cleaning up from the hands-on activity.
