Accessibility
The Indianapolis Art Center is a fully accessible facility. The building is one-level, with the front door entrance via a sidewalk with a curb cut. The western entrance is a sidewalk at ground level with an automatic door, and the eastern entrance courtyard includes an ADA-compliant ramp and automatic door. All restrooms and drinking fountain areas are accessible to persons using wheelchairs.
The Art Center includes two parking areas, both of which include handicapped-accessible parking in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Parking in the Art Center’s east lot includes several van-accessible spaces.
Programming at the Art Center is open to all persons, regardless of race, gender, religion, or disability. Programming includes both specialized classes for people with disabilities and the ability to mainstream into regular classes. Scholarships are available for those with disabilities and/or low incomes.
