Capital Expansions

Plans for expanding the east entrance of the Marilyn K. Glick School of Art are underway. This summer, we will enhance the Nina Mason Pulliam Sensory Path with a sound installation by musician Cenk Ergün. A series of sensors and speakers will create an audio pathway connecting the Monon Greenways Trail with the east entrance of the building.

From the Sensory Path, visitors will enter the Art Center through an expanded eastern façade which will include two new indoor studios opening onto a covered outdoor pavilion. These additions will allow the Art Center to further diversify its class offerings.

A premier glassmaking complex is planned in the Cultural Complex site, tripling the space for the Art Center’s very popular – and overflowing – glass program. The renovation will feature a balcony overlooking the studio to enable visitors to view the glassmaking process. A glass wall and outdoor seating area will provide a larger viewing area for tour groups. Additional expansion plans include a café, glass gift shop and offices.

A new Canoe Launch, a partnership between Indy Parks and the Art Center, will be completed this summer. It will accommodate those with physical challenges and is part of the beautiful Efroymson Riverfront Gardens.
